The soil structure here is getting deeper and is offering more retention for the wines. Beside loess a high proportion of erosion material from primary rock (brownish para-gneiss, amphibolite and mica) is the foundation of this vineyard.

Bright straw colour with a green hue. Intense nose with great purity offering some stony notes, crushed pear, peach, lemongrass, white pepper and wild herbal notes. Warm, ripe and unctuous palate yet with a good vein of freshness, a mouth watering acidity with bright young fruit flavours, good layers and extract with a very long and pure finish.

James Suckling - Weekly Report: 94 points
This has a fragrant nose of apple blossom, melon rind, manuka honey and a hint of redcurrant. Concentrated and flavorful, with a full body and deliciously ripe and fleshy fruit riding on textured and lightly grainy layers. Drink or hold.(S. Pigott)

Jancis Robinson: 17+ points
Cool, stony and I'm really grooving on the feather-light sleekness of Renner. It is, quite literally living up to its name (racer). Deep baking spice, citrus fruit, country lemon. Intense spice with a transparent and filigreed beauty. Seriously structured and a not-kidding-around mouthful of wine. Made for the long haul. And for those who like their wine to start with a capital 'W'. (Paula Sidore)

WINE100 AWARDS CHINA 2023:
GOLD TROPHY - "Best of the Show" - 97 points

Vintage 2020
The Wine Advocate 09/22: 92+ points
Offers a clear, intense and elegant bouquet of perfectly ripe fruits intertwined with delicate notes of dark stones and even hints of iodine. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, creamy-textured, elegant and well-balanced Grüner Veltliner with some lactic features but a crystalline, finely grippy and savory, even salty finish. It probably needs even more time. (S.Reinhardt)

James Suckling - Weekly Report: 91 points
The nose of ripe pear and melted butter pulls you into this rich and mellow gruner veltliner that caresses the palate on the front and mid-palate, but is very soft at the very supple finish. Drink or hold.
JANCIS ROBINSON - Austrias Top Gruners: 16,5 points
Ripe fruit aromas, honey and a touch of lanolin. Baroque palate with surprisingly grippy texture. Like a child playing dress-up, it’s still developing its true character. (Paula Sidore)
