Depending on the size of the flow smaller or larger pebbles – mostly quartzite – were deposited. The sediments are covered by loess of 10 to 50 cm.

ROBERT PARKER - The Wine Advocate 09/22: 92 points
Offers a very clear, fresh and elegant, spicy and even flinty bouquet of white fruits and crushed stones. Round and dense on the palate, this is a medium to full-bodied, lush and elegant Grüner Veltliner with intense fruit and a mild texture. The acidity is ripe and elegant and combines with fine phenolic grip on the finish. Pretty intense and with good length. (S.Reinhardt)

ROBERT PARKER - The Wine Advocate 12/21: 92 points
From gravelly, sandy soils (alluvial sediments from the Ur-Danube) with only a thin layer of loess, the Gobelsburg Ried Steinsetz offers a bright, clear, fresh and gravelly bouquet of white fruits with concentrated lemon aromas. Very elegant, precise and refined on the palate, this is a full-bodied, piquant and lemon-scented Steinsetz Veltliner with a serious mineral and tannin grip.
