The “Zöbinger Perm” is a unique geological structure based on sandstone, silt, arkose and organic sediments. Some parts of the Riesling terraces contain the oldest vineyards of the estate. These wines develope crystalline, refined and very elegant aromas on the palate. they are highly complex, firmly yet elegantly structured and very persistent offering great cellaring potential.

Opens with a clear, bright and savory bouquet of sandstone, salt, ripe stone fruits and tea. Lush and round on the palate, this is a textured, very elegant and balanced Heiligenstein Riesling with a lingering, fine salinity on the highly elegant and aromatic finish. This is again an excellent, quiet and perfectly balanced Riesling from one of the greatest Riesling sites along the Danube River. The 2020 already drinks beautifully but can be aged for two or three decades. (S.Reinhardt)

This fascinating and extremely complex dry riesling has an incredibly wide aroma spectrum, from rhubarb and ripe gooseberry to wild flowers and herbs. At once rich and tense, with tons of wet stone minerality, this is precisely balanced on the blade of a razor-sharp knife. Drink or hold.
Jancis Robinson - Austrias Top Rieslings 11/'22 - 17 points Charming orange and grapefruit aromas mingle into a beautiful palate pulsating with acidity and light. Pepper spice and insane minerality, stony-craggy rather than smoky-sultry. Radiant with an elegant, lingering texture and grip. (Paula Sidore)

The intensely yellow-colored 2019 Zöbing Ried Heiligenstein 1ÖTW opens with a deep, highly refined and subtle yet also complex bouquet that doesn't throw out anything else but noblesse, precision and finesse and quotes perfectly ripe and elegant (stone) fruit aromas intertwined with this distinctive crystalline and crunchy Heiligenstein sandstone and tea notes that are irresistibly alluring and almost (white) peppery. Crystalline, refined and very elegant on the palate, this is a dense, round, intense and highly complex, firmly structured and very persistent Heiligenstein whose only problem is that most of the consumers will probably drink it too soon. I understand the reason, but I recommend holding back as many bottles as possible for a later divertimento. This is a great Heiligenstein, and it was stable over a period of two weeks.

Ripe and spicy with a touch of dried pear alongside the fresh peach, this dry riesling makes a serious statement. Lots of underplayed power here, the acidity quite supple at the long spicy finish that’s well supported by positive tannins.
