The VINTAGE style at Schloss Gobelsburg is a homage to the art of craftsmanship in respect to the past centuries. A minimum of ten years of bottle storage is required to achieve finesse and elegance in our VINTAGE. It is only produced in certain years of outstanding grape developemant (2001, 2004, 2008, 2010). Grapes are harvested at the perfect moment, transported in small boxes and are immediately pressed, whereby only the heart of the must is used. After 12 months of cask storage, it is bottled for the second fermentation. It matures for at least ten years on the lees, which allows it to develop a rich texture, until it is hand riddled and then disgorged.

FALSTAFF Ultimate Wine Guide 24/25: 96 points
Medium greenish yellow, silver reflection, very fine, persistent mousse. Delicate bakery notes, fine yellow tropical fruit, hints of mango, white nougat, attractive bouquet. Taut, tightly meshed, white apple fruit, racy structure, lime on the finish, very youthful, mineral, good length, certain ageing potential. (Deg.11/22)

ROBERT PARKER - The Wine Advocate 12/21: 94 points
Disgorged in September 2020, the 2010 Vintage Grosse Reserve Extra Brut exhibits a lemon-yellow color along with an intense and complex but fresh bouquet with delicate brut notes intermixed with lemony and yeasty aromas. Full-bodied, round and complex on the palate, this is a dry and vinous sparkling wine with stimulating lemon aromas on the pure, clear and fresh finish. This is an impressive sparkling wine to be served during a meal (fish, poultry, veal, cheese).

    Wine Enthusiast 10/19: 93 points
Creamy, lemony chalkiness on the nose promises a serious wine, with some age. The slender palate comes in with tiny bubbles of creamy foam, dancing against a yeasty, chalky, stony backdrop. They release notions of lemon and honey, contradictory notions that create drama, richness and freshness. The finish is creamy, intense with chalkiness, long and dry. -Anne Krebiehl MW
